No Time To Wait

The Arrogants Debut Album "No Time To Wait" on Dirty Water Records; « You can tell by his Paisley shirt, his cuban heels boots and his Groovies cap, that he knows what he says ! He already bought the double Nuggets, the Four CD casket of the Peebles, and he went throught at least four garage/punk revivals, so he might have a doubt about the Arrogants. Should you buy their first LP ? The answer is yes. Because these five young men got it all. We'll have to dig out all the cliche once again : spontaneity, innocence, emergency... and the lordliness of those who have the world ahead. They still have this jubilant, way of accentuating the pronunciation of the « fucking » that pullulate on the record, of yelling inarticulate stupidites just as if they were sharing their garage sound with the Shadows of Knight. Thomas and his gang don't reproduce 60’s Michigan's combos, they are a 60’s Michigan combo. Or maybe from Ohio or from New-Mexico. And even if the band's grammar is willingly limited, the savoir-faire is already there. These kids (almost a century all together) manage to overcome their limits, turning it into strength.” I 'm no Fucking Mozart” they say . We agree and we applaud. Musically talking you can feel a real love of the most primary 60s punk, raw and brutal. No psychedelic logorrhea here, everything is just authentically wild and aggressive. They barely dare a shy (but obstinate) sitar on « Santraa ». The rest is all about fuzz, tribal rythms, and Farfisa Organ. We don't know how long it will last before they will discover Led Zeppelin or the artificial paradises and get too smooth. So don't miss their sounds, enjoy it now !
